TSP (Thrift Savings Plan)

The federal government and military 401(k), with among the lowest expense ratios in the industry.

Why it matters

TSP core funds run at expense ratios around 0.05%. The lifecycle L-Funds provide age-based glide paths. Roth TSP is available, and matching contributions are always traditional (pre-tax).
