Roth 401(k)
The Roth version of a 401(k) — contribute after-tax, withdraw tax-free in retirement.
Why it matters
Same contribution limits as traditional 401(k). Roth makes sense if you expect to be in a higher tax bracket in retirement. Employer matches historically went to the traditional side but can now go into the Roth side under SECURE 2.0.
